Need assistance with DigitalPersona 4500 Fingerprint Reader Installation on WinXP x64

I recently purchased the fingerprint reader because I use long, strong passwords. My wife just hates to enter her password, but understands my position regarding security. To me, this is the only acceptable compromise, as I have used DigitalPersona products is the past on WinXP 32-bit with great success.

It appears that the problem exists with the installation package and not the driver itself. The installation software is supposed to be compatible with WinXP 32-bit, Vista 32-bit, Vista 64-bit, Windows Server 2003 32-bit and Windows Server 64-bit. Moreover, WinXP x64 is not mentioned at all in the documentation.
