    Geeked [8-|] Antivirus NIS

    Hi all, my first post

I spoke to NIS on fri 7th nov in the UK. edition 2005/6 or any other will not run in X64, also corperate edition 10 at £160 for 5 user licence will not, but you get the key for edition 9 (a downgrade i said to him, no he said, yes it is i replied - the conversation went pear shaped). Edition 9 is supported but is now not being sold, hense the downgrade. I do not know how route64 got it to work with edition 10, but well done symantec say no.

    AVG for home use http://free.grisoft.com/doc/2/lng/us/tpl/v5

    Or

    Avast for home use

    Re: Antivirus NIS

Hi there, I live/work in the USA (east coast) but thought I would respond.

We, at my company and at home, use Avast exclusively and it works great under x64. The price for the professional version is very reasonable, when compared to other AV applications.  We recently installed a single license of Avast Professional with a 3 year license for just $74 (and change).

On the job, we are technology problem solvers, when we remove other AV products (usually because they are expired) and install Avast Home Edition (or the Pro depending on location) all sorts of things start getting found.  Makes us wonder what the other applications are doing.

Anyway, just tossing in my two-cents.

    Happy New Year!
