"Image file is valid but is for a different machine" Error

I was in the middle of a session when suddenly all my programs give the error "The image file FILENAME.EXE is valid, but is for a different type of machine than the current machine." The only way I can get around the error is to go to the shortcut and click 'Run with different credentials.' Even things like control panel icons return the error, and I can't get around those. So, basically, it seems as though my computer has made the default user for all programs something other than Admin, and I want to change it back.

I have searched for similar problems, but I only find problems with just one program, not all programs not working.

I am running Windows XP x64. I tried rebooting.
