    Yahoo Music Engine on x64

Has anyone been able to install Yahoo Music Engine on their x64 system? Mine complains that I need 64M ram ... when I have 14Gb. Smile [:)]

Same problem here. I sent a message to some generic feedback form several weeks ago and there have been at least three releases since, none have fixed it yet. I even tried removing a lot of the RAM to get the installer to work, no love. Ironically, I had this working several months ago, had to rebuild the system and the new installer broke some how. I ditched Napster for the same reason.

Er, that's not true. I removed some of my memory to get it to around 3GB, still didn't install. Oh, and the VMWare solution installs fine but core dumps, doesn't matter, Windows or Linux host.

Not a solution, but maybe a little insight...

With eonnen's memory yank, my guess is that YME utilizes some 16bit code -- which in turn is not supported within the Windows x64 family.  Not sure, but 16bit applications can be coaxed into running within a WOW session, but seemingly not when the code is called from within a Win32 dll.

Well, at least they acknowledged the issue is with x64. Tried it on a whim today and the error dialog now says that it works with with XP(32-bit only). Too bad vista slipped so far, I was really hoping for it to pull along the sad state of so many programs like YME. The only solution I ever came up with was dual booting.

I downloaded the new Yahoo Music Jukebox ... and guess what? :(

Still doesn't work. Gives the "only works on 32 bit Windows" error. And you tell me the VMware solution doesn't work?

I wonder if Microsoft's free virtual server solution would work.
