I just got Windows 7 Beta 1 installed on my main desktop, and I’m having great first impressions. As I was copying my music, videos, and podcasts from a backup hard drive, I noticed the transfer was going at over 60MB/s!
I’m using a fairly common drive configuration. My backup drive is a 750gb SATA2 7200rpm drive, and my OS drive is a RAID0 with two 320gb SATA1 7200rpm drives. I’ve never seen file copies go over 45MB/s in Vista. This performance is extremely impressive!
