What would you do with this AMD Server?



During WinHEC 2006 I saw a bunch of really cool things in the expo center. The sweetest physical product that was on display that I saw would have to be a AMD Web Server.

The specifications of this sweet rig are as follows: 32 Dual Core AMD Opteron(865)  processors and 127 GB of ram.  To sum it up in two words “simply amazing”.


 


I would do two things with this server. First, I would run my personal website that gets 10 hits a month. Secondly, I would run a CSS server on it.

i whould have used this to encode 1080i (1920x1080) HDTV files to 1080p (1080x1080) x264 ! :D
and meybe some l33t gaming

My answer to this would be the exact same if you asked me what i would do with a ferrari. It would sit there and look pretty, as with the ferarri i don't think i could afford to run it.

That server must have like a 4,000,000W powersupply :-s
