WinHEC articles. Total for the rought draft came to about 10 pages,
with 5500+ words.

My synopsis is on HardwareGeeks atm, the write-ups I did on the
interviews are being reviewed by their respective companies for
accuracy and in some cases clarification. They should be available here
on x64.com and hwg's once they get another update or two.

I ordered a new case, psu, mobo and a dual-layer dvd writer for the CPU
and 6800GT they gave us during WinHEC. Should be arriving soon,
afterwhich I can get going on another project for x64.com ;).

AMD wheee!

So me and Ryan spoke with AMD yesterday, we had a total blast doing it! Evidently they did too because 2 of the guys we spoke to have already stopped me today just to thank me and say they had a great time and spoke about it later on that day.

On another note, any x64 enthusiasts who got into the x64 enthusiast party and got an Intel 6xx 3.2GHz CPU and wants to trade, just contact AMD and they'll be more than happy to swap it out for their Athlon 64 4000+ Socket 939

well...exhausted but it's the last day and were almost done surviving another year of WinHEC. Have another 4 meetings schedules so probably will meet with another 6-8 people before the day is out and we all head home.

Longhorn and more!

Well, here we are first official day of WinHEC, few minutes before the keynote delivering x64 unto the world. Last night we went to the x64 Ambassador dinner and got an uber goodie briefcase. The briefcase is an engraved aluminum briefcase then inside were a 6800GT, 4000+ Athlon64 skt 939, UT2004 DVD, Shadow Ops, a tshirt, an x64 sticker, FarCry and Riddick. They also gave us jackets with an x64 badge :D...w00t.

Last night we installed the new longhorn build, seems sleaner than 4074 but as I guessed seems more like an XP SE at this point than anything due to the lack of really new UI enhancements with this build. The most noteable exception is the updated explorer with the preview pane moved to the bottom.

Off to WinHEC we go...

Well I head to the airport shortly for Seattle, WA and WinHEC '05!

I'm thinking for the x64 launch keynote Bill Gates needs to show up in
a pimp suit with 'bling-bling' hanging off, oversized faux fur coat and
gangster rap playing. He'd of course be being driven around in an old
cadillac with hydraulic front end bouncing up and down ;)

WinHEC 2005 Prep

Hi everyone,

Me and Ryan will be attending WinHEC 2005 and the x64 launch. Were
almost done prepping for next week and have a lot of content and a few
surprises planned around it ;). So far on the schedule are talks with
samsung, AMD, Intel, Netlist, NVIDIA and MS. Were still waiting to hear
back from ATi, and then we'll be ready to go!

While I'm at WinHEC I won't have access to my email until I fly back on
the 28th so IM is prettymuch the only way to contact me during the
event.

Wheee!

So, another blog by the alien. Hopefully unlike my other blog's I'll remember to actually post occaisionally ;).
At a minimum I'll be posting my x64 WinHEC content here over the next few weeks. :D
